Seamus Coleman
Captain - Everton & Republic of Ireland
Seamus Coleman is an Irish professional footballer best known for his long and loyal service to Everton Football Club. Born on 11 October 1988 in Killybegs, County Donegal, Coleman began his career at Sligo Rovers before joining Everton in 2009 for just £60,000 — a fee often hailed as one of the greatest bargains in Premier League history. Initially seen as a raw talent, he developed rapidly under David Moyes and later Roberto Martínez, becoming one of the league’s most consistent and hard-working right-backs.
Coleman is admired for his tireless energy, determination, and attacking runs down the flank, combining defensive solidity with an eye for goal and precise crossing. Appointed Everton captain in 2019, he has since been the heartbeat of the club, leading with integrity and setting high standards on and off the pitch. Despite suffering a horrific double leg break in 2017 while playing for the Republic of Ireland, he fought back through resilience and professionalism.
Internationally, he has earned over 70 caps for Ireland, captaining his nation and representing them at Euro 2016. Seamus Coleman remains an inspirational figure, embodying loyalty, courage, and dedication in modern football.
